| Vespasian 69 - 79 AD Vespasian was known as one of the best
and most considerable emperors of Rome. Moderate and
extremists Jews joined in a national uprising which
Vespasian had begun to put down at the time of Nero's
death. In Asia Minor, Vespasian united the central and
eastern areas and created a road system covering the
frontier. A philosophically- minded group caused
particular irritation to Vespasian, who felt obliged to
take punitive action. The movement, however, reached its
height under his son Domitian. But in the enlightened
atmosphere of the second century AD systematic
opposition, resulting in the loss of aristocratic lives,
ceased to occur. Vespasian also protected female
prostitutes from victimization.
