Egypt
A Destination to Remember

Welcome to our dear guests, keen on coming to our homeland, cradle of civilization that represents one of the world's longest recorded history mightily visible in our Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic and modern monuments.

Egypt also enjoys a favourable geographic location as the meeting ground of East and West. A mild climate all year round, a natural environment enriched by the Nile River, Mediterranean and Red Sea beaches, vast expanses of desert, fascinating oases, in addition to a wide variety of handcrafts and above all friendly and hospitable people.

Hence, with the development of various tourist services, you are cordially invited to enjoy several activities in the field of culture, entertainment, diving, aqua sports, desert safari, convention, inventive, eco and therapeutic tourism.

In order to meet the increasing demand on Egypt as a tourist destination (1995 a year record with over 3.1 million tourists and over 20 million tourist nights and the trend in 96 is continuously increasing) and as a result of the liberal climate for investments, the lodging capacity reached 67.903 rooms in 1995 and will be increased within the span of five years to reach 174.575 rooms.

Tourism figures prominently among the priorities of the Egyptian government, not only as the second most important source of foreign currency and a major job generating industry characterized by its multiplier effects on the various economic sectors, but also as a major tool for strengthening international understanding and consolidating peace among different peoples of the world.

With my best wishes for an enjoyable and successful experience in Egypt.
