TUTANKHAMON

Against a background of political and religious unrest, TUTANKHAMON the boy-king ascended the throne. With his accession , the Amarna interlude was brought to an end, and the country gradually regained its traditional beliefs The young king was to rule Egypt for nine years, although the real power was in the firm hands of others. Beyond his famous treasures, and his god-like golden mask, TUTANKHAMON appears as a shadowy figure in Egyptian history. The pharaoh is indeed gone, but the mightiness of his treasures still fascinates us to this very day.
