The enduring popularity of ancient Egyptian deities is illustrated by this wooden stele, dating from the Late Dynastic Period. The composite god Re-Harakhte, depicted with the falcon head of Horus and the solar crown of Re, is shown accepting a woman's offerings. In return, the god blesses her with a stream of sunrays in the shape of flower buds.
