Description:
Among the attendants at the
judgment of one's soul were
Thoth and Maat. Thoth is shown
here as an ibis. He recorded the
judgment of the deceased. Maat
is shown here as a seated woman
and was the incarnation of truth
and cosmic order. Made of wood
and bronze, this group has been
attached to a rectangular base
that is carved with ankh and sa
signs to provide life and
protection. It is not known what
the function of the metal loop
at the front of the base is.
