With colossal sculptures, bronzes, ceramics, coins, gems and even caricatures, the exhibition traces Cleopatra's life and liaisons with the two great Roman leaders of the day, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. - The myth of Cleopatra is followed down to the present day, the tragic tale commemorated in paintings, ceramics, jewellery, plays, opera and cinema. This exhibition will be shown before in Rome, Italy.

"Agatha Christie and the Orient"

How the Near East and archaeology influenced the works of  Agatha Christie. The meeting of egyptologists and a voyage to Egypt inspired her to write a play "Akhnaton" and a crime thriller playing in the second millenium BC. Several  stories were based on the similarity of the works  of archaeologists and detectives.

"Life and Death in Ancient Egypt"

A small but interesting exhibition that includes some items from the British
Museum, including a sarcophagus.
There will be a series of lunch time talks starting on Thurs 24th May with the same title as the exhibition 12.30-1.30 pm and "Egyptian Hieroglyphs 2.00-3.00 pm.

This exhibition shows 250 objects from 5000 BC to 1000 AD illustrating the history of the ancient cultures in Sudan.

This exhibition will display about 170 objects of the history of Coptic art from the 2nd to the 14 century AD. The art of weaving will be the central thread of the exhibition. In addition, other documents will highlight the daily life during this era.
