This carved lions-head is one of two which were placed on one of the beds found in the tomb of Tut'ankhamun. Although they are regarded as male, their features are the same as those of a commonly found lioness goddess, Sekhmet. Each of the figures are carved wood, covered with a thin layer of plaster and gilded. The nose and eyes are made of colored glass.
