| Press Release Egypt’s Minister of Tourism Egypt Update February 13, 1998 New Aswan Airport to Operate Soon Within a few weeks, the new Aswan International Airport will be operated, thus becoming the second major airport in Egypt. The airport was designed to accommodate 3,600 passengers daily and occupies an area of 16,700 square meters. It will also function as an alternative to Cairo and Luxor airports at times for emergency and bad weather conditions.
