Ras Mohamed
(Ras is Arabic for Cap, or Head)

Dive into a world-famous paradise of coral gardens and tropical fish such as the Napoleon fish, the reef shark, the manta ray and the green turtle. Ras Mohamed was once an important city for travelers heading for Mecca, but in 1989 became a national park in order to protect the region's marine and desert life. Foxes and gazelles were also reintroduced to the area. From here, one may gaze upon Asia on the left and Africa on the right. This is also the fartherist site north in the Northern Hemisphere where mangroves grow.
