Just a quick comment - the work to link Karnak and Luxor temple along the line of the old avenue of sphinxes is well under way. An area, close to where the airport road leaves Luxor, near the new library is almost completed, showing what the whole avenue will look like. Many buildings have been demolished or will be demolished in the next year or so, and the inhabitants will be rehoused in a new city, which is under construction, I believe. Funding for this project is in place, and it will make Luxor a much more attractive place to visit, coupled with the other ‘face-lifting’ projects going on here now.
