Coincidentally,I proceeded to this fort from the theaters at Alexandria, thinking of machinery.I noticed the crennalations of the towers and wall top.In the imagination,if a tower became a shaft with a gear at it’s end,it would roll in match with the wall top as a rack for a pinion. This coincides with my search for very old missing machinery.Such items,I contend, disappeared in some cases before a structure such as this fort,in terms of design elements was concieved.I do expect others to argue that the fort resembance to gears in any way is only a step in human evolution toward machine technology.A reasonable proposition.
