Thanks for the information!
Just what I was looking for.
I have dived Hurghada and Sharm, and yes they are a little too commercial now.
I have witnessed Sharm expand over the last 10 years and I would like to try Marsa Alam before it goes the same way.
Well done.

That sounds like a dreamy delight!! A great traveler´s report!!
We´re going to spend 1 week in Marsa Alam for the first time from 17-24 April. We were rushing too soon to book the (seemingly) cheap flights without knowing that its quite a horror to find dirt-cheap accommodation on our own! Now we´re exhaustingly desperate!
Negmet Marsa Alam or Marsa Alam Star Motel with 10USD/Double for 2 persons sounds ideal!! But I cant find it on the internet so cant check if its still existing and operating…How can I check the availability? Is there a telephone number or email?
Is it possible to find a ultra cheap accommodation once we get there and search from one house to another? Or is everything “consumed” by package tour big stars hotel?
Would be much appreciated if you could reply with accommodation information from the first hand experience!
Best regards,
NuiNuy

Thank you for such a good write up on Marsa Alam. We went to the Red Sea ( Hurghada) last August, and we want to go again this summer. I liked the look of this resort but had a few unanswered questions about it and your article has answered them all even down to the views about the mountains. Thanks i will be booking the holiday this week. It was nice to read a real persons account.

Thank you for a very informative article. We are arriving in Aug 06 having never been to the Red Sea before. (But have been up the Nile)

Robert
