Luxor is full of grand old monuments and tombs, the largest open air museum in the world, but what else is there to do besides sightsee.

this article has been the most informative thing i have read so far on luxor.we are going in june & staying in the new winter palace.after reading the article we have a rough idea of what to expect & where we want to go & what we want to do.

I really enjoyed the article, I found it to be very informative and I plan on saving it for furture use. I would like to comment on the bit about the three hantoor’s full of tourist racing along the Cornich. Its too bad that there is so little concern or care for the horses pulling those hantoors. I will only rent from a carriage driver that has a well fed, healthy looking horse and cares that it stays that way. Many people in Luxor have been trying to educate animal owners there to take better care of their animals and try to encourage them NOT TO RACE THEM. Lets do the same
    Thanks, Laurel

I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED READING YOUR ACCOUNT OF YOUR STAY ON THE WEST BANK. IT HAS ENCOURAGED ME TO BE MORE ADVENTUROUS ON MY NEXT VISIT TO LUXOR LATER THIS MONTH. AN EARLY MORNING FERRY, A WALK TO A LOCAL VILLAGE AND A TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST SOUNDS A GREAT CHANGE TO ME AND A WORTHWHILE EXPERIENCE.

Why was Luxor originally built? And did Queen Ti have antyhing to do with it?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your article. I have just returned from Luxor and have an overwhelming desire to return as soon as possible to this fascinating city.

I really enjoyed your fascinating article and I’m going to print it off to take with me on my upcoming visit to Luxor so I can visit some of the restaurants etc that you mention. I’m going for the monuments and tombs, but you have given me a great insight with how to spend some time to relax and experience other things as well after a day of interpreting hieroglyphs and tomb paintings. Thank you!
