U.S. currency and major credit cards are accepted at most of the hotels, resorts, and dive operations. It is much safer, however, to purchase travelers checks. In doing so, make a duplicate list of your travelers check numbers and leave it with a trusted friend or in a safety deposit box in your room or at the front desk of your hotel room. It is wise to also make a list of your credit cards you are taking and to do the same as with the travelers checks.
