Meketre11th Dynasty
Meketre' was chancellor and chief steward of the
nation during the reign of Mentuhotpe II.
He lived long enough to serve in various positions during
the reign of Mentuhotpe
III as well. His tomb that is located near Deir
el-Bahri is very famous for its wooden replicas. These
replicas represented the daily activities and life in
that era. Miniature figurines of ships, soldiers,
overseers and even cattle were placed near miniature
buildings and gardens. The tomb was linked to Inyotef,
possibly meaning Meketre' was his son and heir.
