During the reign of King Ramesses II it is noticeable that men with apparently Asiatic names are to be found occupying important offices. One such was Ben-Ozen who was Royal Herald during the reign of King Merenptah; it is perhaps ironic that Merenptah used to be described as the king of Egypt who presided over the Exodus, an event for which there is no evidence whatsoever.
