Nesuhor was commander of King Apries' army at Elephantine and custodian of the Gateway to the South. He was faced with a mutiny by some of his mercenary soldiers but appears to have succeeded in defusing it. The army was, however, once more to revolt against Apries and on that occasion to dethrone and kill him. Nesuhor's tomb is at Aswan.
