Setau was an official who served Ramesses II (1290-1224 B.C.) in the position of viceroy of Nubia and later as high priest of Amon in Thebes. Setau repaired the great temple at Abu Simbel after an earthquake damaged the site. His mortuary stela is in the British Museum.
